Melbourne Graffiti Enriches the City

Melbourne graffiti is widely known across the country, a city that attracts graffiti writers and artists from around the world. Australia has a huge active graffiti community scattered throughout the continent’s cities. A large majority of their writers follow the traditional graffiti code of illegally painting trains and walls. Writers often make the news as the government has had a long and exhausting battle to exterminate a tradition dating back decades. The pieces are temporary so photographers must be on their toes to catch artwork before it disappears under the paint of a fresh new piece. Colour Our City actively shoots the city walls and posts them on their flickr page. Follow them to keep up-to-date on Melbourne graffiti.
